Rajasthan Royals will play their two home matches in Guwahati in the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The Royals will host the Delhi Capitals and Kolkata Knight Riders on April 5 and 9 at the Barsapara Stadium. Both games will be played in the evening from 8 pm.

The Royals will launch the IPL 2020 campaign against Chennai Super Kings at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
The team has already decided to use the facilities of the Assam Stadium for the three-day camp, so that they can use the conditions that will be their second home ground.

RR had requested the IPL to allow them to move their home game from Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur to Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati, citing harassment from Rajasthan Cricket Association officials.
“Be it at the state’s sports council, under whose aegis the Rajasthan Cricket Association(RCA) falls, the state machinery catering to law and order, the former officials of the RCA itself and the political bigwigs in the state.

they’ve all collectively given Rajasthan Royals nothing but trouble over the years,” the officials stated as quoted by Times of India.
However, the request was denied and the franchise even faced a PIL from petitioners saying that moving the home base out of Jaipur would be an embarrassment to the state.

Guwahati hosting the Games means the state will have the privilege of seeing the talented Ryan Parag, who caught the headlines last season for his fearless attitude.

Parag was also part of the victorious Team India, which won the World Cup in 2018 under the leadership of Prithvi Shaw.

According to source the RR boys will train from Thursday to Saturday in Guwahati with Robin Uthappa being one of the big names who will be a part of the training sessions which will be overseen by Head of Cricket Zubin Bharucha, batting coach Amol Muzumdar and fielding coach Dishant Yagnik.
