World's most historic rivalry Of the 71st Ashes series between Australia and England will be organized this summer in Edgbaston, Birmingham on August 1. The Ashes 2019 will be the first series for both teams to be played under the new ICC Test Championship.

England announced the much anticipated playing XI squad for the first Ashes Test against Australia, starting on August 1 at Edgbaston.

Joe Root will lead the squad with biggest highlight being the reappointment of Ben Stokes as Test vice-captain. Jopra Archer has not been included in the team for the first Test.
