Between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka it will be a 3-match ODI series and all matches are set as D / N matches. The tournament’s future was in doubt after the Easter Sunday attacks as Bangladesh Cricket Board, BCB, awaited the security clearance for the tour, but after a few discussions between two governing bodies, officials have decided to continue the tour under high security.

Bangladesh played some spirited cricket throughout the ICC World Cup 2019 despite failing to progress to the semifinals of the tournament. They won three matches in the competition and were close to winning a few more before failing to seal on the crunch situations.

Bangladesh will lack the star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan who, with both bat and ball, made 600 hundred runs in this edition of the World Cup 2019 and became the first all-rounder to take ten wickets. The BCB accepted Shakib's plea because he is likely to make a holy Haj.
